There are no pushrods and no lifter valley to work around, but there is also no forgiveness in the bottom end: the caps are located precisely, several block variants add horizontal side bolts to the vertical ones, and the aluminum-block versions move dimensionally with temperature in a way an iron block does not.

That means two things. First, the assembly order and fastener procedure are not interchangeable between block variants — an aluminum 4.6 and an iron 5.4 are not the same job even though the bearings look similar on the bench. Fasteners are a decision, not a formality
