  • The front cover seal bore, for scoring or a distorted lip.

Replace the front crankshaft seal. Reassembly, and what to check afterward

Reverse the access work, but do not treat it as automatic.

  • Reinstall the belt on the routing you photographed and confirm every rib is seated in every pulley groove. A belt sitting one rib off destroys itself and a pulley in seconds.
  • Reinstall the fan and shroud with the correct fasteners, torqued.
  • Refill and bleed the cooling system properly if the radiator came out.
  • Reconnect the batteries, then idle it and watch the damper with a light: it should run true, and the belt should track centred.
