One injector or the whole set?
The honest answer depends on mileage and on why the first one failed.
Replace one when the truck is relatively low mileage, the failure is clearly isolated, and the remaining injectors test clean. A single failure early in an engine's life is often just a single failure.
Replace all eight when any of the following is true:
- The engine has accumulated real mileage and the other injectors are the same age as the failed one. Wear is a fleet property, not an individual one.
- You found fuel in the oil. That tells you the fuel system has been contaminating the engine, and it is worth resetting the whole set rather than leaving seven unknowns in place.
