What it does

The cylinder head carries the valves, seats and ports that decide how well the engine breathes, and it seals the top of the combustion chamber. Cracked, warped or eroded heads lose compression and push coolant into the cylinders. A new or remanufactured head restores the sealing surface and the port work the engine was designed around.
