What it does

The lift pump feeds the injection pump and, on an air-fuel separator system, pulls air and water out of the fuel before it gets there. Starving the injection pump is the fastest way to kill it, which is why an upgraded lift pump is the cheapest insurance on a common-rail truck.

How to choose

• Match the compressor and turbine wheel sizes to your power target and drive style
• Match the turbine housing A/R and flange to the manifold and downpipe you are running
• Confirm the oil and coolant feed arrangement matches your engine
• Check the part number against the component you are replacing
