What it does

The pan holds the oil and, with the pickup, decides whether the pump keeps a prime under load. Rusted or damaged pans leak; a shallow factory pan can uncover the pickup under hard cornering or braking. A new or baffled pan restores capacity and keeps oil at the pickup.
