What it does

The timing set keeps the camshaft phased to the crankshaft. A stretched chain or worn sprocket retards cam timing, throws cam/crank correlation codes and, on interference engines, risks the valves. A new chain, sprockets and (where included) tensioner and guides restore factory timing and quiet the front cover.
